On June 1, 2025, the Cancer Research Center held a new edition of its flagship event, “Zoom on Cancer Research.” This was also the first time the event took place at the brand-new Integrated Cancer Center of the CHU de Québec – Université Laval, located on the Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus site in Québec City.
The CRC’s Next Generation Committee created a space where the pursuit of knowledge met the hope for new therapeutic approaches, aiming to showcase the cancer research conducted at Université Laval’s Cancer Research Center. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the next generation of scientists invited the general public to step into the heart of research, where they marveled at innovations redefining what is possible. Participants visited 11 interactive booths and toured the facilities of this new research center. Themes such as prediction, prevention, and treatment were explored, with discoveries spanning from cells to patients on display. The event was a resounding success, welcoming visitors of all ages — families and even patients — all eager to discover the inner workings of cancer research.
We would like to thank the Première Heure team from Radio-Canada for helping promote the event, the professor-researchers, and the volunteers for their outstanding efforts in bringing their research beyond the lab. Most importantly, the success of the event would not have been possible without the presence and active participation of our visitors, who are at the heart of what makes Zoom on Cancer Research so meaningful.
